3 Strategies to Find Your Focus in 5 Minutes (or Less)

So much to do and so many distractions! Some days we just can’t seem to focus. Exhaustion, stress, dehydration, hectic schedules, emails, technology, just to name a few, are the major culprits in our lack of focus and concentration.

 

We have 3 simple, easy and free strategies that will help you find your focus in 5 minutes or less – anytime, anywhere.

Play your favorite music

Music can give us a positive jolt of energy just as much as caffeine does. Music increases the production of dopamine, putting us in a better mood, thus, better focus. You may choose to listen to music while you work, in between tasks or during your breaks to give you that burst of positivity and energy. We’ve created a custom playlist to help you get into focus mode.

 

Take 3 intentional breaths

Every cell in our body needs oxygen to function and perform better. Breathing helps reduce stress and anxiety, calms our nervous system and body, engages our senses, and improves our focus and concentration. Anytime you need to focus, take 3 deep breaths: breathe in through your nose, slowly, and breathe out through your nose, slowly. Do it at least 3 times, but you can do it as many times as you want or need to. Remember, the more we breathe, the better our body and mind will function.

 

Get some fresh air

Research will tell you that getting fresh air during work breaks leads to better productivity, a higher level of focus, significantly better decision-making, and improved wellbeing. Take a 5-minute break and go outside. Breathe in the fresh air, feeling the air in your lungs as well as on your skin.
